mewithoutYou and The Menzingers had a spellbinding two-night stand at Union Transfer

On Friday and Saturday night, Philly area bands mewithoutYou and The Menzingers co-headlined a back-to-back stint to a sold out crowd at Union Transfer. The bands kicked off their fall tour earlier this month along with Pianos Become The Teeth and Restorations. Following the release of their latest album Pale Horses, mewithoutYou delivered an energetic, lively performance that left the audience chanting for more. Frontman Aaron Weiss’s captivating lyrics filled the room as he paraded around the stage, swinging his hands into the air and gripping the neck of his guitar, giving us the type of performance his band has become known for.

The Menzingers returned to the Philadelphia stage and immediately incited an ecstatic response from an eager crowd – it filled the venue with high energy and a great set of songs from last year’s Rented World, along with back-catalog cuts from On The Impossible Past, Chamberlian Waits and a cover of “Kate is Great” by The Bouncing Souls. In between songs during their set, they gave praise to being back in Philly and playing at Union Transfer two nights in a row with bands they admire, telling the crowd “It’s one of the best things we’ve done as band.” The Menzingers left the crowd in awe after their power driven set and gave Philadelphia crowd members a show to remember.

The tour will take the bands further down south through Washington D.C, Richmond, Atlanta, and Gainesville, FL before heading further out west in November. Check out photos from night two of the tour stopover in the gallery below.
