A casual evening with Here We Go Magic
An elusive buzz troubled a Boot & Saddle sound engineer. The crowd didn’t seem to mind though. Here We Go Magic‘s guitarist and singer Luke Temple casually, yet cryptically, reminded everyone “We’re all electric.” The band went through tracks spanning their last few records, including a refreshing, crowd-pleasing take on “Hibernation,” a track from 2010’s Pigeons. New tracks from 2015’s Be Small blended nicely with older material, sewing a common thread that can only be described as that classic Magic sound.
Towards the end, Temple announced they had two songs left. They played those two songs, and that was that. And that was great. They casually meandered off stage, blended into the crowd, stopped to talk with some folks, ultimately grabbed some drinks, and packed up the van for New York.
