Somebody please make a GIF out of Adam Granduciel of The War on Drugs smashing his guitar at Treasure Island Festival

So this is what happens when you sign to Atlantic Records? You start taking the stage at major festivals, getting a bit nervy and wrecking your guitars? Kidding aside, take a look at this awesome video we recently came across of The War on Drugs playing Treasure Island Festival in San Francisco earlier this month. As a particularly epic space-out of “Under the Pressure” reaches a climax, we see frontman Adam Granduciel lift his Fender Jag off his shoulders and hurl it, headstock down, to the floor of the stage. I mean, it was more akin to a mic drop than outright instrument destruction but, you know, it’s pretty badass. Watch the entire view below or cue up to 2:25 for the awesome part. Thank goodness it wasn’t a DiPinto.
UPDATE: 11/2/15
Adam has assured us that his fender is “100% in tact!”
@lalalandstudios @TheKeyXPN 100% in tact!! But you can see how it severed my cables on impact. Well done @Fender pic.twitter.com/4BNNMQL3Fd
