Now that’s more like it. For a while, the New Years’ Eve concert landscape was looking a bit, uh, bleak. Greatful Dead tribute bands at two venues, a Talking Heads tribute band at a third. PhillyBloco’s annual throwdown was moved out to the Main Line. What’s a Philly indie rocker without a car to do?

But Johnny Brenda’s was keeping notably cool and quiet. And today, they had their big reveal: locally born, globally-dispersed dream pop six-piece A Sunny Day in Glasgow will headline the Fishtown venue to ring in 2016.

The band releases its new album Planning Weed Like It’s Acid / Life is Loss on Friday; listen to “Hey, You’re Mine” below. Joining them on the show are kindred spirits Mercury Girls and DJ Jeff Zeigler; tickets are on sale now, more information at the event’s Facebook page.
