Flat Mary Road shares “Littered,” plays Ortlieb’s tonight
After releasing The Great Talk in August of 2014, Flat Mary Road took some time off to reboot. The local indie rock band kept things quiet on social media for the most part (save for uploading a pair of album outtakes earlier this summer) but now, after gaining some new members and writing some new songs, the band is getting back in the game.
“Littered” is the first new recording from Flat Mary Road. It’s a demo that shows off their best qualities: an arrangement that has the instruments playing around each other, a clear rock motivation and a pulse of Americana that is present but not overwhelming. The lead guitar flows into a narrative that could fill an amphitheater, while a distant fiddle fades in and out.
The band brings this and other new songs to Ortlieb’s tonight for a show with Grandchildren and Baker Man. More information for the 21+ show can be found here. Listen to “Littered” below.
