We first met Hardwork Movement back in October when they released their single “Shine.” The local hip-hop quartet impressed us with the chemistry and team work that was apparent on the track, two things that are again present on their new release “Living Legend.”

This track, taken from the group’s forthcoming Good Problems album, is a round robin of verses performed by each member. A dynamic arrangement of horns, beats and synths support the lyrics, which explore the motif of being your own champion. The line “I’m a living legend and all I had to do was believe” sums up the sentiment pretty well. It’s a long track, coming in at over six minutes, but the varied cadences and well-written lyrics keep you hooked.

Listen to “Living Legend” below; tickets for the 21+ release show at Kung Fu Necktie on January 7th will be available here.
