Kississippi, Kate Faust and Work Drugs brought a crowded Johnny Brenda’s a little closer to the holidays last Saturday night, for the latter’s Fifth Annual Holiday Spectacle. The three homegrown bands offered pop music ranging from buoyant Beach Boys-y vocals to electronic beats to somber bare-bones electro-folk.

Newcomers Kississippi offered a spare set showcasing singer Zoe Reynolds’ ethereal vocals. In a performance that at turns evoked the Cocteau’s Elizabeth Fraser, Kate Faust showed off some of her latest tracks from upcoming EP Undercover, including a killer take on Radiohead’s “All I Need.”

Finally, Work Drugs topped off the night with their reliably upbeat dream pop, including the requisite Christmas standards. Check out photos from the spectacle in the gallery below.
