One of our favorite up-and-coming local bands Pine Barons first first introduced themselves to a larger audience this summer when they played an electric set at the XPoNential Music Festival. If you missed out on that show or just need more Pine Barons in your life — who doesn’t? — than this weekend’s show at Boot & Saddle will quench your thirst for indie rock awesomeness.

The New Jersey four-piece first burst onto the local scene with the release of their 2013 self-titled debut and have been on a roll ever since, gigging hard in the Philly area, going on tour with The Districts and gaining a strong following. As they move into the new year, the Pine Barons are finishing on a new album, one that they hinted at earlier this year with the release of their first single since 2013, “Clowns” — which you can watch them play live for Root Down in the Shadow below. They also recorded a punked-out cover of “January 1979” by Upper Darby’s own mewithoutyou which you can listen to here.

So if your into supporting local talent or simply just want to here some awesome psychedelic indie rock, Boot & Saddle is the place to be tonight when Pine Barons take the stage with fellow local rockers Howlish.  You can click here for more information of the concert and check out the band’s newest single as well as their performance of both “Telescope” and “Don’t Believe What They Told You” from the XPoNential Music Festival below.
