Tin Bird Choir add two new tracks to their holiday catalog
Chester County folk four-piece Tin Bird Choir have always had a knack for writing perfectly pitched holiday songs and they’ve done it once again this year with their new tracks “Christmas is Relentless” and “Season of Peace.”
The “barn-rock” band actually got started back in the mid-90’s when Eric and Heather Hurlock recorded a handful of Christmas songs and since then they have been committed to spreading Christmas cheer through song (in addition to their heartwarming catalog that’s totally enjoyable the whole year ’round).
“Christmas is Relentless” keeps in line with the band’s tradition of capturing the often conflicted feelings many have about the Christmas season. The tracks balances itself skillfully, talking both of the inevitable familial squabbles but also of the fire burning in the hearth and falling in love with Christmas all over again.
“Season of Peace” is more of traditional folk ballad with a more polished production that “Christmas is Relentless” — which was recorded via garageband. The flighty percussion and beautiful vocal skills from Heather Hurlock make “Season of Peace” a necessary addition to your Christmas playlist.
You can listen to both “Christmas is Relentless” and “Season of Peace” below and also go here to hear the Key Studio Session we did with Tin Bird Choir back in 2014.
