A little later on today, we’ll bring you our first Key Studio Session of 2016, and it’s an exciting one – but before we get there, let’s pause and recap an awesome fall season with the release of The Key Studio Sessions Volume 15, our latest free compilation of live performances from regional bands recorded at WXPN studio.

This set is quite literally bursting at the seams: 20 tracks, more than any of our past Key Session comps, and a range of artists both geographically and stylistically. There’s punk: the emergent Philly four-piece Legs Like Tree Trunks, who grace the cover art, and Lancaster scene vets Spill. There’s ensemble-driven folk:  No Good Sister and Maine transplants Friendship. Trombonist Ernest Stuart and his band hit wild jazzy notes, as does the vibrant and funky seven-piece DarlaJoie Kathos and Armani White bring hip-hop energy, while Sonnder and Allentown’s Summer Scouts bring the modern rock.

And that’s not even half the artists on the bill. Listen for an incredible performance of the radiant “Key West” from Cheltenham jangle pop newcomers Family Volleyball and an aching “Down on the Boulevard” from Central PA folk icons The Innocence Mission. And the wild and unclassifiable “Pro” by RoseMary Fiki will have you spinning your head.

Stream the compilation and download individual tracks below. And as always, big thanks to those who made this happen: production assistants Dan MalloyDrea Rose and Rachel Del Sordo, photogrphers Hope HelmuthCameron Pollack and Liz Waldie and videographers Ali BrantEmily DubinJeremy Quattlebaum and Lenore Romas.
