Slingshot Dakota’s long-awaited new LP Break is coming
The wait is over, people. Bethlehem indie / punk / pop duo Slingshot Dakota today announced their much-anticipated new LP Break, out March 11th. We’ve heard it, so trust us when we say it’s totally worth the wait – and when you preorder the album in clear vinyl (with violet and pink splatter) via TopShelf Records, $1 from each record goes to the Third Street Alliance for Women and Children in Easton.
Says the band:
The Third Street Alliance for Women and Children provides much needed services for homeless families, child care, and day programs for aging seniors with special needs. They do all of this with such care and empathy, striving to maintain human dignity and cultivating self respect to all they serve. It has been a fixture of our community for a very long time, and we would love to see that continue!
The band is streaming a new song, “Paycheck,” over at the A.V. Club – it’s a driving rocker that totally captures the interplay between Carly Commando’s gritty keyboards and Tom Patterson’s driving drums. And it also, in a way, is a not to the Emmy-winning song that Commando wrote for The Simpsons that allowed the band to quit their day jobs and focus on Slingshot full time.
Check out “Paycheck” here, and stay tuned for more information and tour dates from the band.
