Feel the nostalgia in Dr. Dog’s new video for “Bring My Baby Back”
To an extent, the latest project from Dr. Dog is very much about looking back – it’s a revisit of a tripped-out early tape release of theirs, Psychedelic Swamp, rearranged into the sound of Dr. Dog today for the Swamp Is On performance at Union Transfer and recorded at the band’s Clifton Heights studio.
It’s fitting, then, that their newest music video feels cloaked in the haze of memory. We see cuts of the band performing amid evocative lighting, candid footage of them on some distant shoreline, and quirky scenes of keyboardist Zach Miller giving a Swamp Is On-esque lecture of some sort.
The soundtrack is an amazingly soulful performance from bassist and songwriter Toby Leaman; check it out below. Dr. Dog releases Psychedelic Swamp on February 5th via Anti- Records, and the band’s World Cafe taping next Thursday, January 21st, will be streamed live on VuHaus. More information can be found here.
