Christian McBride to lead all-star jazz band at Penn

This Sunday, January 31st, Philadelphia bassist Christian McBride will lead the Mack Avenue SuperBand in concert at the Zellerbach Theatre at the University of Pennsylvania. The all-star jazz band is embarking on a tour in support of its latest CD Live from the Detroit Jazz Festival – 2015. This release marks McBride’s first time leading the ensemble as he takes the reigns from former director Rodney Whitaker, though he’s been involved in the group since 2009.
