Call Him “Sir Van”: Singer-songwriter icon Van Morrison receives knighthood
Iconic Belfast singer-songwriter Van Morrisonwas knighted today in a ceremony presided over by Prince Charles of Wales at Buckingham Palace. Introduced as Sir Ivan Morrison, he received the honor for his services to the music industry and tourism in Northern Ireland, according to the BBC – who Morrison talked to after the ceremony, describing the experience as “amazing” and “exhilarating.”
