Listen to “The Sheboygan Left” from RJD2’s new album Dame Fortune
Philly producer/beatmaster RJD2 has shared a new track from his upcoming album, Dame Fortune.
RJD2 originally gained widespread notice when his song “A Beautiful Mine” was used as the theme song for the hit TV show, Mad Men. “The Sheboygan Left” feels familiar to “Beautiful Mine,” but instead of minor synths and dark strings, RJ utilizes funk bass and belting horns, creating a new potential theme song worthy of Mad Men‘s eventual 70’s spin off. The instrumental also carries traits of 90’s hip-hop, jubilant and full of excess.
RJD2 will be bringing “The Sheboygan Left” and many other jams to Union Transfer on May 28th. For more information and tickets, check out the XPN Concert Calendar.
Dame Fortune is out 3/25 on RJ’s Electrical Connections. The record will feature guest vocals from Aaron Livingston of Son Little and Phonte of Little Brother.
