Four Tet to make his grand return to Philadelphia on May 26th at 714
It’s been over seven years since electronic visionary Four Tet (human name: Kieran Hebden) last visited Philadelphia. Since then, he’s released four studio albums, including the slow-building, two-track epic, Morning/Evening in 2015.
Finally, Hebden is coming back to the City of Brotherly Love on his new tour — apparently booked entirely through Twitter requests sent to his agent — on May 26th.
The tour announcement itself is a sight to behold — the “poster,” if you can really call it that, is simply a screen grab of the tour dates taken from a computer running Windows XP. That’s right, the Windows XP. The one from 2001. Who knows if Four Tet is actually still using XP, but I for one hope he is. There’d be a delightful irony in knowing that Hebden, a musician whose music literally could not exist without modern technology, is using an OS from the Stone Age.
Four Tet will be performing at 714, a mysterious new club that opened late last year (the 714 stands for the club’s address, 714 W. Girard). He’ll be joined by fellow chill electronic artist Anthony Naples.
You can grab tickets to the show via the XPN Concert Calendar. If you have twenty minutes to spare, check out “Morning,” the first track from Morning/Evening, below.
