Neil Young and Dennis Hopper

Tomorrow evening at the United Artists Riverview Plaza theatre, two Neil Young films will be screened, Human Highway, and Rust Never Sleeps, followed by a satellite interview with Young and Cameron Crowe.

Young made the eccentric Human Highway in 1978 with members of Devo, Dennis Hopper, and Dean Stockwell, however the film saw a limited release in 1983. In the promotional posters for the movie, a public relations rep was quoted as saying that Human Highway was “So bad, it’s going to be huge.” She was mostly correct. The movie got negative reviews, but over time the film grew in cult status. The film is about restaurant employees and customers at a gas station-diner in a fictional town next to a nuclear power plant unaware it is the last day on Earth.

It will be screened tomorrow night at theaters across the country, along with his classic live concert movie filmed in 1978.
