Bob Dylan with special guest Mavis Staples will play the Mann in July
Two legends of American music take to the stage at the Mann on Wednesday, July 13th when Bob Dylan returns to Philly with special guest Mavis Staples.
According to reports, Dylan is working on a new album of standards, the followup in 2015’s Shadows in the Night. The new album, Fallen Angels, is out May 20th, and according to Dylan’s web site, anyone who purchases tickets to the shows in June and July (with the exception of the shows in Boston and Indianapolis), will get a download of the new album.
It was recently announced that the University of Tulsa and the Tulsa-based George Kaiser Family Foundation acquired 6,000 artifacts from Dylan’s private collection, including photographs, handwritten lyrics, letters, audio and video recordings.
Mavis Staples recently released her M. Ward produced Livin’ On A High Note, with songs written by Nick Cave, Justin Vernon, tUnE-yArds, Neko Case, Aloe Blacc, Ben Harper, Benjamin Booker, Valerie June, and others.
Tickets go on sale Saturday, March 19th at 10 a.m.
