Vita and the Woolf returns with a soaring anthem called “Brett”
Call it a promising taste of things to come. Fierce Philadelphia electro-rock duo Vita and the Woolf has been working on their new LP for a little bit over a year now, and has been keeping the material tightly under wraps – until today. NYLON Mag premiered the towering anthem, “Brett,” which traverses peaks and valleys in a Bat for Lashes style wilderness. Frontwoman Jen Pague told Nylon that it’s not about a person, per se, but a means of coping with personal lows.
Brett is not a real person but a person in my imagination. I still have imaginary friends and Brett is probably one of them. I wrote the song because this character in my mind became stronger as I overcame negative thoughts and depression a year and a half ago.
Listen to “Brett” below, and stay tuned for more information about Vita and the Woolf’s album as it unfolds. The band is on tour right now, and plays the #AmplifyPhilly showcase at SXSW before returning to the region on April 15th to play HMAC in Harrisburg; tour dates are listed below.
