Enter a psychedelic trance with Laser Background’s new song “Jawbreaker”
Lo-fi psych rocker Laser Background (aka Andy Molholt) has released a new track called “Jawbreaker,” the first single from his new record, which is to be released this spring.
The song is personal for Molholt, as he wrote it about a roommate he witnessed living through a toxic relationship. On the track, Molholt doesn’t mince his words, beginning bluntly, “I can’t tell you how much I feel that you are sleeping with the enemy.”
But while the lyrics are full of a sense of concerned frustration, the music itself reveals no such negative emotions. With Molholt’s almost spoken-word lyrical delivery and chirping synth lines, “Jawbreaker” is a like wading through a pool of psychedelic molasses, a slow-moving trance.
Listen to the song below, and catch Laser Background perform March 19 at Johnny Brenda’s. Tickets available here.
