Pity Sex don’t waste time on their new single “Pin A Star”; catch them at UT in June
Michigan punk rockers Pity Sex are prepping to release their sophomore LP White Hot Moon, which is out in April on Run For Cover, and they shared the album’s newest single yesterday, “Pin A Star”.
The song starts out with an infectious drum groove that breaks into a punk rock rager with elements of shoegaze and indie-pop. According to Spin, the band was influenced by Yo La Tengo and Deep Sea Diver during the recording process, which is evident on the Jessica Dobson-influenced guitar lines and Britty Drake’s carefree Kaplan-like vocals.
The band also announced a tour supporting White Hot Moon, which will include a stop at Union Transfer on June 12th. Opening for Pity Sex will be PWR BTTM and Petal. For tickets and more information to that show, check out the XPN Concert Calendar.
White Hot Moon is out April 29th. Listen to Pity Sex’s “Pin A Star” below.
