Philly musicians team up for tribute concert celebrating 10th anniversary of Amy Winehouse’s Back to Black
Amy Winehouse‘s second and final album, Back to Black, turns 10 this year. To pay tribute to the singer, who passed away in 2011, a number of local musicians have teamed up to perform a benefit concert on June 24 downstairs at World Cafe Live.
The concert will feature a rotating cast of Philly singers, including Imani Roach, Ginger Coyle and Ross Bellenoit, who will each perform separate tracks from Back to Black. The vocalists, who will be accompanied by a nine-piece band, will also be covering some of Winehouse’s lesser-known B-sides and songs from Winehouse’s first album, Frank.
Proceeds from the concert will be donated to The Amy Winehouse Foundation, an organization that seeks to support children and prevent drug abuse through music education and therapy. You can grab tickets to the show here.
