Modern Baseball play the house band in “Wedding Singer”
We’re just about a week away from the release of Holy Ghost, the much-anticipated follow-up to Modern Baseball‘s 2014 LP You’re Gonna Miss It All, and the Philly-based band has given us another preview in the form of a video for “Wedding Singer.”
The clip follows “Charlie” as he deals with an emotionally tumultuous funeral. We slip into the “Entertainment HQ” section of his brain where a hardcore band is creating a ruckus (if you’re quick you’ll spot some faces you might recognize), but it quickly gets shutdown by a fastidious attendant. MoBo takes over, and “Wedding Singer” becomes Charlie’s soundtrack to a spontaneous adventure with a girl driving a hearse.
Jake Ewald and Brendan Lukens from MoBo also stopped by Rolling Stone’s office recently to rock out an acoustic version of “Wedding Singer.” Check that out below and check out the band’s documentary short here if you missed it last month.
Modern Baseball bring Holy Ghost to Long In the Tooth for an in-store release show on May 12th, then to a headlining gig at The Fillmore on June 26th with Joyce Manor and Thin Lips. Tickets for that show can be found here.
