Listen to new music from Man Man’s Honus Honus: “Heavy Jesus”
We haven’t heard from Philly favorites Man Man since the 2013 LP On Oni Pond, but at least now we have something new from one-fourth of the band. Lead man of Man Man Ryan Kattner, otherwise known as Honus Honus, is back with a new song and video, “Heavy Jesus.”
The song itself is fun. A witty narrative sung by Kattner’s unmistakable voice is just what we needed after not hearing from him in a while. It’s catchy and dance-y and will have you humming the chorus for the next few hours. Without a doubt it fits under the label of “apocalyptic LA pop” that Kattner has given the new solo project. But the video, directed by Honus Honus himself, takes the entertainment value up a notch with some wacky shots that look like they were homemade on an immensely outdated camcorder. Plus, Jesus himself appears on a burnt quesadilla. Just watch the video below to see for yourself — especially if you need an almost the end of the week laugh.
Honus Honus’ debut solo album Use Your Delusion is out September 9th. More info on that can be found here.
