Today’s #TBTXPN theme is singer-songwriters from the 70s. Starting at 6 a.m. with Kristen Kurtis on the XPN Morning Show, Kurtis, along with Helen Leicht and Dan Reed will travel back to the 70s for 11 hours of singer-songwriter classics and deep tracks from the story telling troubadours.

During the 70s, there was a late night television show called The Midnight Special. Like Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert, a similar show during the time, it featured concert performances from the day’s most popular bands with the bands performing live. The show launched in August, 1971 and ran until May, 1981.

Below, watch performances from singer-songwriters Jim Croce, Dave Mason, Gordon Lightfoots, Seals & Crofts, Joan Armatrading, and more.
