The Philadelphia Folk Festival returns (in its 55th year!) August 18th through the 21st in Upper Salford Township. As she does every year, WXPN’s own Helen Leicht will be bringing out three Philly-based talents for this a Saturday afternoon local showcase. On August 20th, the festival will welcome Heart Harbor, Matt Duke and Katie Barbato to the stage.
The new project of musician Kerry Hallet, Heart Harbor is an imaginative effort that utilizes acoustic guitars and melodic croons with synthesizer dreamscapes. Watch the video for “Hating Nothing” from her debut EP Tender Trap below.

Matt Duke returned in April with new album The Phoenix, a conceptual LP that tackles depression and the yearn to overcome it. Check out his new offering of songs below.
With a summer release date for her new full-length Times Have Changed on the horizon, Katie Barbato’s soulful singing can be found on the album’s title track, give it a listen below.
