Watch Courtney Barnett’s wild ride as the “Elevator Operator”
We’ve all had those awkward elevator rides. Nobody wants to experience them them, but it sure is fun to watch others suffer through one. Now, thanks to Courtney Barnett, we can do just that. The Australian rocker has released a video for the song “Elevator Operator,” off her 2015 album Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit.
The new visual, directed by Sunny Leunig, isn’t just an uncomfortable ride up and down an elevator. It’s a jam-packed adventure that includes cameos from some big names. From her mad dash to the Nicholas Building of her native Melbourne, Australia, to her hectic journey operating its elevator, Barnett encounters American icons Sleater-Kinney, Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy, fellow Melbourne rockers Camp Cope, and tons of other recognizable faces.
There aren’t any plans for Barnett to return to Philly as of now, but that’s OK since we are still soaking in the awesomeness that was her May performance at the Electric Factory. Until she returns to Philly, get your fix of Barnett by watching the video for “Elevator Operator” below.
