Time flies when you’re having fun, and suddenly here we are listening to episode 50 of a great local music podcast.

Over the last two years, host Dan Drago has had some pretty interesting guests on the 25 O’Clock show: Dani Mari, Joe Reinhart, MH the Verb, Bruno Catrambone and dozens more (even The Key’s own John Vettese!). We’ve come to expect bi-weekly installments of diverse conversation that pull back the curtain on both the music and the musicians, and this milestone recording is no different.

Recorded at The Tattooed Mom on South Street during the Philadelphia Podcast Fest, episode 50 features special guests Brian Erick from New Jersey’s The Paper Jets and Ben Hughes of Night Windows:

Brian Erick fronts the band The Paper Jets, as well as co-hosts The Great Albums Podcast. I was on the show a month or so ago, talking about Harry Nilsson’s ‘Nilsson Schmilsson’. Needless to say, Brian and I became friends immediately. He also plays one of the best songs I’ve ever heard involving the subject of Elvis Presley. Check out both his band and his podcast.

Ben Hughes makes his 3rd appearance on the show to catch me up on his comings and goings. After finishing out his project in 2015 of putting out an album a month, we talk about his trips to South By Southwest, Day Trotter, and Converse Rubber Tracks in Brooklyn. He’s kind enough to preview a key song from the upcoming Night Windows album.
