The world can be a cold, scary place, and with temperatures dropping and Halloweekend on its way, it’s about to be a lot more of both. Failure to take the necessary precautions could prove fatal (or at least mildly uncomfortable), so when it all gets to be too much, take refuge in this new Lily Mae cut.

“Closer” is the title track from the Philadelphia songwriter’s upcoming sophomore album, and it basically radiates heat. With its gentle instrumental and Mae’s beautiful, soothing voice, its a perfect fit for fans of Joni Mitchell, Vashti Bunyan, or just singer/songwriter music in general. If it doesn’t tug at your heart strings at least a little bit, you should see a doctor, because you didn’t have any to begin with.

Closer is out November 11th, but for now, you can stream the title track below; read an interview with Lily Mae over at Rookie Mag.
