Japandroids’ cathartic noise-rock to bless Union Transfer next February
After making the world a better place with the announcement of third full length Near To The Wild Heart Of Life last week (due out in early 2017 via Anti Records), Canada’s noisy boys Japandroids announced an extensive world tour set to hit Union Transfer on February 24th, bringing along Brooklyn’s Craig Finn & The Uptown Controllers to keep them company.
Exploding on to the scene with debut LP Post-Nothing in 2009, these rockers have continued their fantastic blend of ’80s punk with classic rock roots, a hole left open in a White Stripe-less world. Breaking down pop-punk to its most rudimentary with lots of screaming, guitars up to 11, and high-energy drumming, the duo revives punk energy akin to a sweaty Midtown basement in 1982. As the world continues to be bombarded with squeaky-clean pop-punk revivals, Japandroids knowingly puts much-needed unfiltered emotion into a heavily edited scene.
Check out the band’s recent single, the title-track of “Near To The Wild Heart Of Life” below, as well as the band’s full tour dates. Tickets go on sale this Friday (November 11th) at 10, and more information can be found here.
