Tour Fishtown with Creepoid in new Sounds Local video
Creepoid represented Philadelphia in a new visual series from MapQuest called Sounds Local, which followed six bands around their hometowns for a tour of their favorite spots. The psych-y grunge rockers hit many of the big Fishtown spots in the clip, sharing their favorite places to relax, eat, and catch some local music.
Vocalist/guitarist Sean Miller and drummer Pat Troxell start out at Everybody Hits on Girard, hitting some balls in the batting cages while explaining the importance of all-ages / DIY venue spaces to the Philly music scene. Next up is the venerable 21+ venue/bar Johnny Brenda’s where guitarist Petejoe joins in for a bit of a history lesson (and a quick glimpse of Sleepy Hollow host Julian Booker and his band Bird Watcher sound checking on the upstairs stage). Then the band heads up Frankford and around the corner to Front St to stop at the “Mecca clubhouse of the neighborhood,” aka Kung Fu Necktie. Wrapping up, a visit to this corner of the city wouldn’t be complete without a trek over to the Instagram-famous Port Richmond Coal Pier (aka Graffiti Pier). Bassist Anna Troxell joins the team at this point for a performance of “Gutter Jeweler,” a song even newer than the Burner EP that Creepoid will release later this month.
Watch the clip here and catch Creepoid at Kung Fu Necktie when they celebrate the release of Burner on Friday, November 25th. Check out “Dried Out” from last year’s Cemetery Highrise Slum LP below.
