No Thank You worries about the fuzzed-out future in “The Unbearable Purposelessness Of Being”
New-to-the-scene punks No Thank You are starting to make their mark early. The project of Philly native Kaytee Della-Monica comes out swinging on their newest single “The Unbearable Purposelessness Of Being,” off their soon to be released record Jump Ship.
This push-pit catalyst jumps right into it, as Della-Monica’s sweet vocals bring a tad bit of vulnerability to a Pity Sex-esque wall of fuzzed-out six strings. As a tweeting synth jumps into the chorus, an anthemic statement of “I’m twenty-something / and I’m still alive” sounds at home in a South Philly basement, cementing No Thank You as a perfect addition to Lame-O’s budding roster.
Check out “The Unbearable Purposelessness of Being” below, along with another track off the record “Juicy J”; Jump Ship comes out February 24th. Also, catch the band on tour with The Superweaks at Everybody Hits on February 25th, and with Dominic at Johnny Brenda’s on February 3rd; tix and info on both shows can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.
