1968 – Genesis release their first single, “The Silent Sun.”

1987 – Andy Warhol dies.

1993 – Radiohead releases their debut album, Pablo Honey.

2006 – The one billionth song is downloaded on iTunes; the song is Coldplay’s “The Speed of Sound.”

2011 – Adele releases her sophomore album, 21. The album sells 5.82 million copies by the end of the year.
