Local stars fill sixth annual Center City Jazz Festival line-up, happening 4/29
On Saturday, April 29th, the sixth annual Center City Jazz Festival will stock Philadelphia with more than a dozen jazz acts for one day only across five intimate venues. This year’s line-up concentrates even more on the depth of talent found within the city limits and features some recent favorites as well as longtime leaders.
Highlights of the opening slot schedule include Tom Moon’s breezy Latin jazz Ensemble Novo at Milkboy, Norman David’s Eleventet at Franky Bradley’s, and the Kimmel Center’s Creative Music Program at Chris’ Jazz Cafe. Later on in the day, ubiquitous drummer George “Spanky” McCurdy (Lady Gaga, Jill Scott, Justin Timberlake) will close out MilkBoy, Monnette Sudler and Odean Pope are at Franky Bradley’s, and pianist Eric Wortham II, recently returned from a world tour in Adele’s band, headlines Time Restaurant.
All-Access passes are $20 and get you entry into all five venues throughout the day; tickets and the full schedule can be found here.
