Listen to Blondie’s newest 80s summer anthem “Long Time”
80’s trailblazers Blondie are still churning out those saccharine pop hits, this time with the callback “Long Time,” the third track released off the band’s upcoming record Pollinator.
While the tune knowingly picks and pulls from the band’s 1979 anthem “Heart of Glass,” the band manages to push out a sound just as crisp as any modern pop hit, swirling with the necessary Beverly Hills Cop-esque synths and prancing percussion. Debbie Harry’s iconic vocal style keeps the tracks lyrical content from getting too real, creating a top-down jam to blast while you take a business call on your car phone. Blondie is grasping the 80s revival and running with it, and we couldn’t be happier.
Listen to the track below, and while that grin remains on your face, grab some tickets to Blondie’s Mann Center show with Garbage on August 2nd via the XPN Concert Calendar.
