Kate Faust rages, slow jams, and collabs with King Britt on her new Capsizing EP
Over the past several months, Philly’s Kate Faust has taken up residence in the Boyle Heights section of Los Angeles, but wheretheheckever she’s at geographically, her music is still worth some quality headphone time.
This morning, we’ve got the first new set of songs from Faust since 2015’s Eros EP. She announced the Capsizing EP late on Sunday night, and it furthers her progression into the world of sophisticated synthesizer soundscapes met with emotive vocals. “Your Body (Breaking)” debuted back over the summer with scintillating visuals by Koofreh Umoren to match the driving rock rhythms of the single.
The rest of the EP moves in kind — “When,” a collaboration with local legend King Britt, the raging slow jam “Beyond Desire,” and a live version of “No One Told Me,” recorded at Random Tea Room, to close out the set.
