Circadian Rhythms return from the ether with their new single “The Wait”
Unconventional popsters Circadian Rhythms are making 2017 their year, releasing their newest record A Peculiar Kind of Afternoon on May 13th and playing a PhilaMOCA show on that same day. To gives us a taste of what’s to come, the long-running six-piece brings us their newest whimsical single “The Wait.”
Paired with a stage setup straight out of a high school drama rehearsal, the video for the song captures the band’s out-there lineup (two keys, trumpet, violin, and the usual bass / drum back section) playing an oddity of a tune. The laid-back vibes never break their spell, using those dual keys to bounce through a psychedelic ballad with warm sounds and chilly lyrics. It’s pretty euphoric, posing Afternoon to be — in the band’s words — “…an album whose sound is rich and bittersweet.”
Watch the video below, and find the record’s artwork / tracklist as well. Also, be sure to grab tickets to CR’s record release show at PhilaMOCA on May 13th with R.R. Perkins, Mavis the Dog, and DJ sets by John Morrison. Tickets and more information can be found on our XPN Concert Calendar.
