“I love everybody here today,” Adam Weiner screamed into the microphone at World Cafe Live. “You gotta stick together.”

Unity and release through sweaty rock and roll was the vibe of Low Cut Connie‘s Free at Noon performance this afternoon, from the propulsive piano stomping energy of opener “Back in School” to the come-together energy of “Revolution Rock n Roll,” the fiery energy of “Rio” and the set-closing cover of Prince’s “Controversy,” where the tanktop-clad Weiner dove into the crowd and rhythm guitarist Will Donnelly climbed on top of the band’s signature upright piano Shondra, playing a pummeling solo to guide the song to its close.

Low Cut Connie’s latest EP, Dirty Pictures (Part 1), releases next Friday. The band will be at Union Transfer on September 8th; tickets and more information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar. Below, listen to an audio archive of the performance look at photos from the performance.
