PREMIERE: Take a trip with Chris Kasper in his “City By The Sea” video
Regional singer-songwriter Chris Kasper returns with O, The Fool, his latest album, which hits stores tomorrow. Breezy and melodic, spanning folk and jazz sounds, the album comes as the days are getting warmer, longer and sunnier and our collective sights turn to long weekends at the Jersey Shore. Kasper is in that mindset as well, and today brings us a new music video celebrating the place where he’s been setting up shop of late, where the ocean meets the sky.
The “City By The Sea” video was produced by director and cinematographer Sherry McCracken at Little Rock Films and Studios in collaboration with colorist Patrick Taylor of ColourSky Films, and it’s sun-kissed and sentimental. As Kasper tells us over email:
Living at the shore year round for the last few years gave me an interesting perspective on loving something then leaving it. People do it every summer with the Jersey shore and come fall and winter the place is a ghost town. It’s beautiful and bleak and lonely during that time and I really would dig on the transition from summer crowds to winter locals. My friend Sherry runs a great film studio in Ventnor and I asked if she wanted to shoot a video of the tune. She called her colleague Patrick to bring a drone and boom, we got some cool shots of the lazy summer down the shore.
