Tune-in to a live 40th anniversary broadcast of Stars End on 6/4
In conjunction with The Gatherings Concert Series, WXPN late-night program Stars End will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a live broadcast of the Robert Rich Sleep Concert. The performance is taking place at The Rotunda on Sunday, June 4th from Midnight to 8:00am and will be simultaneously streamed in full over the XPN airwaves.
Now the second longest-running ambient music radio program in the world, Stars End has been presented by electronic musician and aficionado Chuck Van Zyl for 37 of its 40 years. He writes:
“Star’s End is a unique listening experience, unlike other radio shows. Due to the unique presentation and the subtlety of the music, the program really affects people, often in a profound way.”
Robert Rich’s sleep concert will also be a unique experience. With space for “100 sleepers,” Rich will create a sonic environment that filters in and out of the participants consciousness as they rest, allowing them to “ride along the edge of [their] own awareness.”
More information for the sleep concert can be found here. Tune-in to XPN at 88.5FM or stream the broadcast via XPN.org. Listen to an excerpt of a 1996 sleep concert below.
