Pine Barons announce new LP The Acchin Book, share trippy rocker “Telescope”
It’s official – Pine Barons have at last set a date and a name for the release of their long-time-coming follow up record to 2013’s Pine Barons. Mark your calendars for August 4th, when the five-piece group of indie rockers from Southern New Jersey will debut The Acchin Book after dropping hints and vague timelines for what feels like forever.
The lead single “Alliterate Breed” came last fall in the form of a trippy music video, but the band has been largely quiet in terms of new music since then save frontman Keith Abrams’ project Tremellow and bassist Shane Hower’s solo project Everyone released last month. In conjunction with the official record announcement the band has released a second single via Consequence of Sound.
“Telescope” is a fast-paced, electric guitar-driven rocker that, in lead singer Keith Abrams’ words to CoS, “is a personal magic metaphor for a failed relationship…A story about a flower who has been turned into a woman, later to be sucked back into the earth and transformed back into a flower.”
The Acchin Book will be an 11 track record, closed by “Alliterate Breed.” It is currently available for pre-order leading up to August 4th. Pine Barons play the inaugural Philly Music and Arts Fest at World Cafe Live on September 22 and 23; more information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.
