A lineup that includes the likes of Cayetana, Worriers and Camp Cope is good enough on its own. To ask for anything more than a trio of that quality would just be greedy. But when the three bands play next month at Skid Row Garage in York (the show was originally supposed to be in Lancaster at Chameleon Club’s Lizard Lounge, but has since been moved), one more newly added group of rockers will join them: Lancaster’s Sleepy Limbs.

There’s not much out there from the band. They started up last fall, releasing a debut single “Picket Pins” in September. Yet these guys are not strangers to the scene — members Ben Roth, Kory Gable and Joe Fuscia have spent time in You, Me, and Everyone We Know, Bright and Early, and Ben Roth Band — and have already caught on in the region, finding a spot on the bill at a handful of local gigs and even opening up for the likes of Cloud Nothings last month. Their Facebook bio claims they’re “a musical project that liberates the melodies and whispers from our collective ether. Takes them out of our bodies, and into your brain, down your spine, and into your heart, to swim around like a half fish half flower, blooming in your soul with scales red and blue.”

Honestly, I don’t really know what that means. But I do know that their soft-punk sound is good. “Picket Pins” rests quietly at times but gets mildly heavy at others. A new EP is said to be coming soon, so a more in-depth reveal of what their sound brings can’t be far off. We’ll get a better idea in York on July 7. Tickets and more info on the show can be found on the XPN Concert Calendar. Listen to Sleepy Limbs’ “Picket Pin” below.
