The Western Den, Honeysuckle, Ellen Siberian Tiger, and Dane Galloway to take over MilkBoy July 15th
Four insanely talented acts all in one night for under $10? I’m sold. Boston-based The Western Den and Honeysuckle with Philadelphia’s own Ellen Siberian Tiger and Dane Galloway will be performing at MilkBoy on July 15th in what promises to be a fantastic show at the center city venue.
Alternative-folk, Berklee-born The Western Den began as a Deni Hlavinka and Chris West in 2013, and they released their first EP Battle Hymns in May of that year. They released a second EP All the Birds in 2015, and have a finished but as of now unreleased new record that they will be sure to preview at the show. Check out this live studio session of single “Cornerstone” recorded for the Amplify Project: East Coast Live.
Honeysuckle are a three-piece progressive folk group that also hails from Boston and has performed their sets at the likes of Lollapalooza and the Newport Folk Festival, garnering several nominations in folk and Americana categories at the Boston Music Awards in 2016. They have an ethereal, haunting sound that comes from the trio’s beautiful harmonies and backed by driving banjo melodies.
The Western Den and Honeysuckle are currently on a joint tour. For more information on their tour, click here.
Philadelphia acts Ellen Siberian Tiger and a solo Dane Galloway (of My Son Bison and Vita and the Woolf) will join the tour on the Philadelphia stop at Milkboy, Ellen Siberian Tiger released an excellent alternative folk record Red Blooded Woman earlier this year, a return to the acoustic, singer-songwriter roots of her teenage years. Galloway has his foot in multiple projects as a guitarist for Vita and the Woolf and a vocalist for My Son Bison, and he will be appearing to perform as a solo act. He has yet to release anything besides teasers for the project, so catching him at Milkboy is the best way to hear what Galloway’s been working on.
