It’s there first proper album in three years, so Radiator Hospital wastes zero time. Five minuets in, you’re already on track three, and following the punk blasts of the opening “Long Distance Dedication” and “Out Of Mind,” it’s a downright slow jammer.

With midtempo electric guitar strums and a Replacements-y sense of melody, the band guides us through fear of loss and the sense of clarity that comes when that apprehension comes perilously close to reality — the idea of keeping those you love close.

Give it a listen below, and celebrate Radiator Hospital’s new album Play The Songs You Like at the First Unitarian Church on Friday, October 20th with Outer Spaces, Strawberry Runners and Eight. For tickets and more information, check the XPN Concert Calendar.
