French-Cuban duo Ibeyi — made up of twin sisters Lisa-Kaindé and Naomi Diaz — can often be found crafting intricate songs full of harmony and rhythm. Sometimes haunting, sometimes dance-worthy, always energetic and full of depth, Ibeyi’s songs have carved out their own unique place in music over the last few years, and their unforgettable artistic style has left us waiting for more. It’s been a few years since Ibeyi brought the sounds of their self-tited debut album to Philadelphia for a captivating show at World Cafe Live, but now the duo returns to town to headline Union Transfer on Nov. 4 with support from theMIND.

Preparing to release their sophomore album Ash on Sept. 29, Ibeyi recently shared a video for their new single “Me Voy,” which features a guest appearance from Grammy-winning Spanish rapper Mala Rodriguez. The video brings the duo’s signature sound back in full force, complete with stunning, colorful visuals. Ibeyi’s inspiration is rooted in the West African Yoruba culture from which the sisters are descended; their artist name itself means “twins” in the Yoruban language. The sisters have sung in Yoruban as well as English and French, melding their ancestral influences with the contemporary music styles they grew up with. The result is something totally distinctive and incredibly beautiful.

Watch the video below and prepare to dance your heart out to Ibeyi at the Union Transfer show. Tickets and more information on that show can be found on the XPN Concert Calendar.
