Strand of Oaks will be joined by Shannen Moser, Hemming and more at this year’s Boot & Saddle Winter Classic
Local favorites Strand of Oaks blew us away at Philly Music Fest this weekend, but if you missed the show or just couldn’t get enough, we have some good news. Tim Showalter just announced this year’s Winter Classic, an annual year-end event that’s become a tradition for the band and fans alike. It’s all happening over three nights this December at Boot & Saddle, and Oaks have enlisted a terrific roster of locals to open the stripped-down shows. Shannen Moser will take the stage Dec. 8th, John Dyer Baizley on the 9th, and Hemming on the 10th.
You really can’t go wrong with any of these openers, but if there’s someone in particular you’re aching to see, consider grabbing tickets quickly — Boot & Saddle provides a more intimate setting than Strand of Oaks typically inhabits these days, but it also means the shows could sell out fast. (Remember last year? A third show had to be added after the first two sold out. Oaks demand is high in this city.) Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m., and you can find more information on the venue’s website.
