West Philly hip-hop-meets-punk artist Ronnie Vega is known for bringing a full band together to create a genre-fusing, wholly unique sound. The project recently released three new tracks on Bandcamp in the form of The Lost Vega Vol. 1, and now Vega and crew have a new video out for “Therapy.”

Shot in the semi-desolation of an old Philadelphia cemetery, the video showcases Ronnie Vega’s knack for mixing compelling political narratives into the traditional hip-hop formula, all underscored by a gritty punk beat.

As Ronnie Vega told Afropunk:

“Ronnie Vega combines the hostility and the griminess of Philly with the creativity of the punk and hip-hop underground scenes there. In this song, we blend elements of all of our roots to produce something that evades the typical genre categories. The lyrics touch on the life experience and emotion that form the basis of our writing.”
