Jam to RFA’s catchy new single, “Down Your Street”
Just before the weekend hit, Philly rockers RFA shared “Down Your Street,” the infectious lead single to the group’s upcoming debut album, out on April 6th. The first taste of “Down Your Street” hit the web last spring when the band’s Out of Town Films session was posted. The song has been played out in their raucous live shows for just as long, and now RFA have finally released the album version of the song.
Opening with an upbeat tempo and playful guitar licks populating the intro, the track quickly ramps up to the grooving mood fans have come to love and expect from RFA. Sprinkled with nostalgic lyrics of relationships past, lead singer Dan Cousart croons “I saw your street sign there in a dream / and it was still standing, still hard to believe / that this is the place where we spent so much time / I need to forget you, hope you’re doing fine.” It’s the duality of the infectiously catchy song mixed with nostalgic themes and general inescapable feelings of growing up that makes the future output from RFA so promising. On “Down Your Street,” the band continues to hone their sound while delivering to fans a glimpse of what’s in store for their debut album.
Most recently appearing in Philly at Boot and Saddle this past Super Bowl-eve, the band is now gearing up to hit the road with tourmates The Double Negatives for the month of March, trekking to Austin, TX for SXSW later this month, before ultimately returning to Philly for their homecoming show at PhilaMOCA on April 7th.
