Tin Bird Choir pulls together through tough times on “Hide My Heart”
Long-running Chester County group Tin Bird Choir describe themselves as “barn rockers” — their first album was even called Barn Rock. For over a decade, the five-piece has cranked out the kind of homespun-sounding delicate folk tunes that conjure up images of fresh air and open fields — in other words, they don’t sound like they come from right outside of Philadelphia. But lucky for us, they do, and better yet, Tin Bird Choir is readying to return with new music.
The band’s new single “Hide My Heart” is out now, along with its accompanying video — you can watch/listen below. The song starts off soft and sparse as Heather Hurlock sings “I’m not gonna hide my heart from you, even though I know what you’re gonna do,” and quickly turns into a shimmery and cascading, harmony-filled, sing-along-worthy tune.
The band says of the song:
“This song is a manifestation of the phrase ‘take your broken heart and turn it into art.’ Everyone in the band has recently been through some tough times. This song pulled us all together and now we offer it out to the universe as a tiny drop of love.”
