Petal explores self-doubt in a fun music video for “Better Than You”
In the new Petal video, the world is Kiley Lotz’s stage as she sings and plays guitar on the couch, eats ice cream in a kitchen, and sings while walking a neighborhood sidewalk. There’s also a cute scene involving a giant yellow light switch, and Lotz playing human whack-a-mole, all to the tune of “Better Than You” from Magic Gone, Petal’s new album out on Run For Cover Records on June 15th.
The song itself features bright, catchy guitar riffs and a memorable soprano melody; the tremble in her voice is balanced out by powerful drums and the coarse guitar, and the song has stand-out lyrics like “Maybe if you were you, people would seem to care about what it is you even do.”
Check out the music video down below. And if you’d like to catch Petal live, she’ll be performing at PhilaMOCA on June 20th. More info on that show can be found here.
